How to Initialize the NVR for First-Time Use

This guide covers the initial setup process required when using the NVR for the first time, including setting the administrator password and configuring basic settings like region, time, and password recovery options.

Background Information:

  • A login password must be set for the default ‘admin’ user.
  • Setting up password protection (email/security questions) is recommended for password recovery.
  • Keep your login password secure and change it regularly for device safety.
  • The default IP address is 192.168.1.108.

Procedure:

  1. Start the NVR: Power on the NVR device following the ‘How to Start the NVR Device’ guide. The initialization interface should appear automatically.

    (Reference: Page 114 – Step 1)

  2. Set Region and Time: Configure the Region, Time Zone, and System Time according to your actual location and situation. Click Next.

Note: You can click the power icon Shutdown icon on this screen to shut down the device if needed after setting the time zone.

    (Reference: Page 114 – Step 2)

  3. Set Admin Password: Create and confirm a password for the default ‘admin’ user. The password must be 8 to 32 characters and meet complexity requirements (e.g., uppercase, lowercase, numbers, special characters – specific rules may be displayed on screen).

Enter a Password Hint to help you remember the password. You can click the hint icon Hint icon on the login screen later to display this hint.

    Click Next.

  4. Set Unlock Pattern (Optional): Draw an unlock pattern by connecting at least four points. This pattern can be used as an alternative login method.

If you configure an unlock pattern, it becomes the default login method. If you don’t configure it, you’ll use the password to log in.

Click Skip if you do not want to set an unlock pattern. Otherwise, draw the pattern and confirm if prompted, then proceed.

  5. Set Password Protection (Recommended): Configure methods for resetting your password if you forget it.

    • Reserved Email: Enable and enter an email address. A security code will be sent to this email for password reset.
    • Security Questions: Enable and configure security questions and answers. You can reset the password by correctly answering these questions.

If you do not need password protection, disable both options. Click Save.

  6. Complete Initialization: Follow any remaining on-screen prompts. The device might restart to apply settings.
