Hi folks! I'm a former camera/ home automation install tech (3 yrs experience).
My girlfriend has a language/ speech pathologist practice which requires a child's therapy session be remotely viewed by a parent in a separate room on-site. This is currently handled by two Wifi GoPros paired to two iPads in the viewing room. She is now looking to upgrade to a maximum 8-channel system now, with 100% audio/video stability ( GoPro wifi was not always reliable ).
She has hired a supposed " business technology expert", who doesn't seem to be following her spoken and written requirements for the system. I also see red flags when he is wiring switched AC receptacles next to each camera in the ceiling- which will look like crap- instead of home-running DC power wires to a common power supply...
So, I might be taking over this project. Here are the requirements:
-currently need 4 cameras (up to 8 in the future ) with minimum 1080p resolution, no outdoor housing requirements, with good-quality audio
-each camera feed needs to be run to its own dedicated monitor in a separate room +/- 50' away.
-camera feed needs a "pause" button or feature whereby the therapist can block the remote monitor feed and make the (camera) room "private"
-need a method of recording all footage and occasionally burning dvd copies
-building is being renovated currently, so wiring options are flexible
thanks in advance for any design help you can offer
