I am trying to set up a system that will have up to 16 poe ip HD cameras that can be viewed from a central point in the building (Security Station). I currently own a Netgear fs728tp POE Switch that I want to use with the new system once I figure this all out. My beginning questions are as follows:

1) I am looking at the 16 Channel Elite Compact Series - 1.5 U Network Video Recorder

Product# NVR-ELC-16 with 3 3tb drives . Will this be compatible with my POE switch ? Will I be able to record all cameras in full hd?

2) How do I split the 16 cameras to view on 3 screens (4 cameras on each screen) located at my security desk.

I will have more questions to follow however this is a starting point.

Hi,

Welcome to our forum!

To answer your questions , the PoE switch that you currently have will power the cameras of course the cameras need to be PoE enabled, 98% of our Network cameras are .

If you are looking to display the cameras in multiple Monitors what i suggest is running our PSS software or the Smart PSS software and connect your recording device to this. This will allow you to utilize multiple monitors of course the PC/Mac will need to have additional video cards or a video card that will output out to two monitors .
