My ISP doesn't allow me to access the modem/router. So, I call them so they can change the port forwarding rules. They said they changed all 3. (88- I changed from 80.  37777, and 37778) gave them my nvr's IP.

When I go to canyouseeme.org , it says error: the connection timed out. Any Ideas?

I'm ultimately trying to connect via android phone with techpross plus.

I have been able to connect within my network.

Check the default gateway on DVR network setup and make sure it matches your gateway. Who is your ISP?

Default gateway matches. ISP is HTC in South Carolina. Smaller company.

Hi,

Do you know exactly to what IP address they forward those ports to? Normally port forwarding have 2 steps, One is the port you are opening then who's going to be listening to that port in your internal network. An example will be if the port your ISP open is 88 but they forward this port to a random IP address inside your network then whatever device with that IP address in your network will be listening through that port. So it is very important that the ports are forward to the IP address of the DVR, you will need to give that info to the ISP in order for then to properly port forward  the ports correctly. if your DVR IP address is 192.168.1.108 then the port need to be forward to that IP address. PLEase make sure your ISP know this.

Yes, they already know this. I told them which IP to use for all 3 ports. My gateway is 192.168.0.1 , my NVR IP is 192.168.0.108 (this is the IP that I gave them) Its frustrating not to be able to control it myself. They give you a motorola surfboard sbg6580 , but wont give me the password to control it. Could it be some kind of firewall on there end. I'm still learning, If I should call them, what should I have them look for?

Thanks

Unfortunately since you cannot control your modem/router, the ball is on their court. Just show them the canyouseeme.org reply and tell them that whatever they do, they don't do it right. It seems like everything on your side is done the way it should be.
