I just downloaded the Android version of TechProSS lite and am having problems configuring it.  I configured the device manager as follows:

Name: Bob

Address: xx.xx.xx.xx:8080

Port: 37777

Username *******

Password ******

Channel: 1

But when I select Live Preview and select Bob from the device list, I get a login failed  Bob Channel01.

I triple checked the Username and Password and both are correct.

So, the question is, what am I doing wrong?

Hello,

You actually put in two different port numbers. Remove the :8080 from the address. Also make sure you have opened port 37777 in your router and pointed it to the internal IP address of your DVR. That should do it.

The router is located about a 1000 miles away.  Thus, I can't readily change port number.  So, I updated the software as follows:

Name: Bob

Address: xx.xx.xx.xx

Port: 8080

Username *******

Password ******

Channel: 1

8080 is the port assigned to the DVR.  I have absolutely no problem remotely accessing the DVR using IE.  And again, I verified the username and password that I am using for the software.  This is the same userid/password that successfully works for IE remote access.

Also, I access the DVR using http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8080/ in IE.  So, I'm not using Dyndns etc.

Unfortunately, I still get a login failed message

There are three ports the DVR/NVR will use.

The HTTP port (I think you are using port 8080 for this).

The TCP port (by default it is set to 37777)

and the UTP port ( By default it is set to 38888)

The HTTP port is used for the web interface. So when you log in with a web browser you will use this port.

The TCP port is used for the phone/tablet app. This gives access to only the substream.

So when configuring your app, the address should be xx.xx.xx.xx.

the port number (if using the default port) should be 37777

Also, channel represents the number of channel the unit has. So if it is accessing a 16 channel NVR, that value would be 16. It will only be a 1 if you are directly accessing a single IP camera.

In your router, you have to make sure you have opened all 3 ports and directed all traffic from all three ports to the DVR/NVR internal IP Address. Without this configuration, your firewall will block you from accessing the correct ports in the DVR/NVR.

Ah, ports 3777 and 3888 aren't opened up on my remote router.  Unfortunately, the router is locked down, making remote access to in impossible.  So, I'll have to wait until I get home to resolve the issue.

Thanx for your help!!

Hello when you are there you can enable remote management on your router so you can open ports and change stuff from home to your router.

If you know the model and make of this router we can tell you exactly where to go to enable this feature,

Thanks
