I have the same settings... I get the alert just no sound with the alert...i used to get the 'tri-tone' sound everytime an alert would come in...

If the sounds are working correctly on someone else's IPhone with same IOS version then we must assume there is something different in your settings. Maybe verify the IOS version on both phones?

ios 8.1.2 on an iphone 5s
Do you receive sound with any other notifications? I remember that in the settings of the notifications on the phone you can adjust sounds as well ( at least on the old OS) check in those settings to verify sound is enabled with the notification bar.

Yes. I am getting sounds on others. This all began with the ios 8 update...everything worked perfectly before that... This updated TechproSS app has fixed everthing but the sound with the alert. Everything is turned on the way it should be. I have received other alerts from other apps today with no problem.
From checking various web sources it seems that there have been similar issues with facebook notifications coming though with no sound...(I'm not a facebook user so I can't speak from experience). From what I'm reading it appears that there was a problem with the app itself not being set up to send a sound with the alert...it took a fix on the app developers part...

Good morning I am using IPhone 5s version 8.1.1 and it was working perfectly with the new upgrade I see you updated your OS to 8.1.2 which is the latest of the latest update for the IPhone so there may be bugs because the new Techpross plus app was written prior to the release of 8.1.2, we will keep you posted on a new update. Have a wonderful day.

I had been using the app on 8.1.1 since downloading the updated app last week. When that wasn't working I updated ios to 8.1.2 yesterday thinking that might help and received the same result. I receive sound with other apps' push notifications (games etc)... i'm completely baffled...
