Hi,
I have managed to add my dvr to SmartPSS but it shows as Offline.
DVR is Dahua 1604 LE-L. it works on PSS but my plan is to buy a 2 more DVR and use all three on the same program. will the new version dvr that work on SmartPSS work on PSS. is there a backward compatibility?

Are you able to access the DVR's web service from the computer PSS is installed on? If so, ensure the username and password is set correctly for that device, as when you add a DVR to PSS by default it sets both username and password to "admin". The new DVR's should work on PSS just fine.
The DVR is probably to old to work with the newer version. Another option is to update the firmware on that unit and see if that does anything. I can get you the firmware for the unit but I need to know what order it came off of. PM the original order information. It is very important you get the right firmware. If the wrong firmware is loaded onto DVR that will brick the unit.

I don't know where to get the order number.3 days ago i found a firmware online and updated the DVR and it still works but still i cannot see the cameras in live preview using SmartPSS. On general PSS and IE everything is fine.

Sorry if it breaks protocol to necro an old thread, but I've got the same issue as sergiu above. My DVR is a DVR-LT032960 purchased by the previous system administrator and no paperwork. I'm running SmartPSS 1.11.1. I'm wondering if my firmware is the latest revision as suggested above. I'd prefer to use the web interface if I could, but the PC environment is mostly Windows 8.1 which means Internet Explorer 11 and the webrec.cab file simply will not successfully install and/or run properly since it's unsigned. Any info you have would be appreciated.

In case this helps anyone else with the issue, I did the following to get the DVR online:
1) Click Devices.
2) Add the Device.
3) Edit the Device.
4) Ensure that the username and password correct and the account is not locked (still not sure how to fix the locked portion yet). Click Get Info and click Save.
5) On the Home Page, click Device CFG and wait a few moments for the device to come online.
6) If the device still does not come online, go to the Home Page and click Account. Ensure that the account there matches the username and password you are using to log into the Device. After that, the software connected successfully to my DVR.
