Need some help getting the sound to work on my NVR-ELE8M-P4K. Double checked all my settings and have the AUDIO checked on CAM 1, hit the speaker button on window / cam 1 on preview and I can't hear anything at all. Microphone is plugged into MIC IN on the NVR and it is powered up by a 12V power adapter. I have 2 mics and 2 power supplies, switched those out and still nothing. Help! I need to be able to monitor sound outside my residence. My older DVR had AUDIO IN - not MIC IN like this NVR, the older DVR worked flawless with audio monitoring, this one I can't get it going. ARRGHH! Thanks.

Hi Blackbrd -
On the NVR-ELE8m-P4K the 'Mic' input on the back of the NVR is for audio talkback feature.
The audio you are looking for from a camera needs to be routed through the camera. The camera itself should have an Audio input jack - this is where the microphone needs to be attached. IP cameras send audio along with the video signal through the Cat-5 cable. The DVR then sorts out the two signals. The 'Mic' input on back of the DVR is to send audio to a camera with a speaker attached to it's 'Audio Output' jack. (So you can talk to someone in the room with the camera)
You may have to log into the camera's web GUI to set up audio levels.
Let us know if that helps.
