We recently set up a building and used all 8 camera's. We plugged them in as we added them, but in this case we want to use the NVR and 4 of the 8 camera's as a monitor in an office.

In the "View" setting for the local monitor, we wish to set it on "View 4"... either 1-4 or 4-8 would be OK... but neither choice gives us the 4 camera's we want to view (though 1-4 gives us 3 of the 4).

I read in one review where the reviewer said it didn't seem possible to re-arrange the order of the camera's once the NVR learned them for the first time... i.e. changing ports, deleting them  and re-installing them had no effect. The NVR seemed to remember them the way they were originally installed.

How can I move them around so that I can monitor the 4 camera's I want to watch?

Please advise!

mbkerk - The 4K units are pretty particular when it comes to rearranging the cameras. Once they are installed - the order is permanent.

The only way to get them into the order you want -
1. Tag the camera leads where they plug in to the NVR - Pull a lead and see which camera goes offline - tag that lead with the camera name or number where you want it to be in the order. Do this until all cameras are disconnected. (Now you will know which camera lead is for which camera)
2. Now go to the NVR Main Menu>System on bottom row. Find 'Default' on the left side menu. Click the 'Factory Default' button.
(This will set the NVR back to factory state - any settings you have made will be lost)
3. Reset the NVR back to the settings you had before = Network / POE Switch / Users / etc.
4. Plug in the camera you want in position 1 and wait for it to come online (or manually install if Onvif camera)
Once that camera is installed - find camera 2 and install it.
Keep going until all cams are reinstalled in the correct order - this will lock them into that order permanently.
Just remember to have the 4 cams you want to view together installed as 1~4 or 5~8 so you can group them on the monitor.

It can take a while, but when you are done, you won't have to mess with it again.
Let us know if that helps, and Thank You for doing business with Security Camera King!
