I can play back each camera individually. I can playback 4 cameras at a time. But when I playback all 8 channels I only get 4 cams to playback. Typically on all 8 it will only play Channels 1-4. or 1,2,3, skips 4 then 5. The end result is always 4 channels only on all 8 channel playback.
Settings are full time record. Motion detect record. All settings for 8 cams are the same. I'm playing back on regular speed. Not fast play. Software version was updated to Nov 2014. All camera are 3mp. Some are 50 IR and some are 100 IR. EL 3mp.
Any help appreciated

Since my NVR only has 8 ch then it should play all channels because it falls under 9ch capability of the 1/4/9/16 widow. Do you believe anyone sells a 9 ch NVR and 8 ch will not work? Yes the 4ch support is perfect on my machine. But since my NVR should play up to 9 channels at once or even 16 channels at once then my 8 channels should all be played at once. The highest choice of channels on my NVR is 9 windows. The options are 1 ch, 4 ch, 9ch, under nine ch it has a menu for 1-8 cams.
Unless I am missing something obvious......
With all due respect I beg for a better answer.

Jerry,
I updated my post. I was only trying to interpret the manual and was not stating opinion. We are testing the the NVR, and you can playback 8 under the 9 window setting. Your original post suggests you are recording full time and motion. Is that correct?
Change your search filter to only show full time video. I think you will see holes from where the motion was because that is what happens when you are recording both motion and full time.

Yes I am recording both full time and motion.
I have changed filter to only full time with 9/8ch only to have four cams play back. (cams 1-4)
I have changed filter to only motion detect 9/8ch only to have four cams play back. But the cams would bounce around throughout 1-8 cams with only 4 cams playing at a time. Meaning wherever the motion was only 4 cams would play, but it could be any 4 of the 8 cams. Never have I seen 5 cams or more playback when choosing 8/9 cams. Only four.
The times are synced. I resynced using internet time manually.
I reformatted the hdd this morning to start fresh. (still only 4 cams play on 8/9 setting in playback)
HDD is 6TB for an NVR that can hold 8TB. Does this NVR want 4TB max on each HDD sata cable? Just asking?
Sorry to be a consistent pain in the butt. The NVR is running fine otherwise.

Do you still need access to my NVR. If not I will delete User that you used.

Jerry,
They were designed during an era where 8TB max meant 2 4TB drives. If you are able to test it working with 1 4TB, then you will discover an incompatibility with the 6TB. Like any bios for any computer, it is only designed to handle certain hardware. However, if you have the same issue with a 4 TB drive, then nothing has changed. It is a valid test if you have a 4tB laying around.
Humm, that is weird. Do you happen to know if under detect page each channel is recording to its own channel. In another words, when you select a channel from the drop down does the record channel number corresponds to the channel you have selected from the drop down? Is this the first time trying to playback up to 8 channels at one time??

Gentlemen,
I went to the detection menu and each camera was recording on their camera number. Meaning Cam 1 was set to record to cam 1, 2 to cam 2, etc. I was hoping it would have been an easy fix like that. Boo hoo.
And I agree that the NVR was designed for 8TB, meaning 4TB on each of the two 2 sata connections. I ordered 2 purple 4TB hdd from Amazon last night and will install them this week. And I will let you know if the proper size hdd will allow 8 channels to play in the 9 window choice. The 6TB hdd in the NVR will go in my desktop computer for backup of computer files.
Besides the non 8 ch playback, the NVR is running fine and I still can't believe the clarity. I have it side by side with my analogue DVR so I see the wonderful difference everyday.
My next question is.....when I are you going to sell 4K cameras and NVRs??????????
Thanks for your help

On your NVR that worked with all 8 cams at once:
Did the NVR have one or two 4TB HDDs? I have a 6TB in right now and 2 new 4TBs coming in mail tomorrow. I'm thinking the size of a 6TB keeps my NVR from running all 8 channels at once. (currently only 4 channels playback on 9view/8ch)
My logic is each hdd plays 4 cams so I need two hhd for 8 cams.
And I deleted your temporary access to my NVR. Thanks for follow up.
Will up date tomorrow.

I look forward to your update, but I only had 1 test drive in the unit to establish some recordings. I believe it was a 4TB. If it was a hard drive causing the issue, it is not the fact between 1 or 2 drives it would have been the 6TB, and this is something we will need to test and correct. So, we will know more once you establish some recordings in the new drives and we will see how it works out. Thanks.
Jerry,
I have tested the same NVR with a single 6TB and so far I'm able to play all channels at once. also, there is a new firmware release for your unit only that you can find here: https://app.box.com/s/m3lhhl11.....602zuwxpbc. The most noticeable feature in this firmware is the ability to add secret question, longer password light (20 Characters so far I have tested), P2P, etc. Also there is a new feature that will factory reset the unit, this means that passwords, account etc will be set to default as well.
Thanks
