Search, two channels, motion detect only (yellow lines on each channel), play both videos appear, play fast 1 or fast 2 or fast 3 or 4 and 2nd channel video is skipped. Only plays channel 1 and maybe a snippet of channel 2 when clearly there is much video on channel 2. You can see the play bar just skip video.
8ch 8poe NVR, isn't it supposed to play multichannels at the same time in fast 1, 2, 3, or 4 speed? Am I asking too much from the NVR.I have 2 6TB hard drives and has not recorded on the 2nd drive yet. Have had it for 3 weeks and has not had to rerecord over previous footage yet. (wondering if hard drives work faster after looping around completely for first time and recording over old footage) Are there settings that will let playback run 100%
Sync button is on. Tried it both ways. Reformat drives? Default all settings?
When playing on 1 channel playback is fine. Multiply channel playback skips footage.
Thanks for help
Hi,
so you you are saying when the 2 cameras are playing back in synch they do. To play at the same time? I know for a fact that speed playback in nvrs in general is NOT like a dvr where they play smooth and fast but again that is a small NVR so resources are limited as well. If you try to do this over the network then expect to have lag. There is no NVR that would be able to accomplish that unless you go with PC based. They do can handle a lot of resources due to processors and ram.

I see NVRs can't handle things in general like a DVR. That's disappointing cause I liked the way DVRs handle requests. I was expecting NVRs to behave the same. Oh well it's a great leap in picture quality over DVRs. I hope a future software update will speed and fix things up.
No I am not viewing remotely and having skipping. I am viewing at the NVR HDMI cable to TV and having skipping problems. You would think playback from hard drive to tv would be perfect. It doesn't need bandwith to get to the tv.
The sync button is on and the skipping still happens. I only have two cams right now. Would be worse if I had 8 running?
Fast viewing footage needs to be single channel only not multi-channel.
I had high hopes for this NVR system.
It's an education.
Well even though you are not playing the cameras over the network the NVR and camera resources are utilized. Unlike DVRs the encoding and decoding is done at the unit and with nvrs everything is done at the camera. At the same time you are doing that the nvrs needs to keep recording and the hole decoding and encoding continues at the camera and the NVR will need to keeps process that. Lastly the higher the resolution and frames you are playing and recording the more resources the NVR will need to handle those task. Regardless the NVR you get either from us or other company the unit will never play back like a dvr. You have to remember that you gain though 3 times the resolution than an NVR.

I understand your answer. And I am content with fast viewing one camera at a time (Night Hawk, the sync button is bottom left of search screen, just to the left of all, regular, alarm, motion buttons). Everything is a compromise and nothing is for free. I just had to dial back my expectations. What I am saying is I now know what the system can do and I can work within that. It's just that when you have to get video fast for the cops you want to know exactly what to do and download it as fast as you can.
Jesus thank you for your quick weekend responses. Excellent 24/7 help!
