Yes it does. It reduces interference since it is a wired connection. That will prevent data packet damage or loss in transmission. Also the routing protocols that try to keep the packets in sequence will be able to do so easier, so you will have less jitter or video degradation. Wired is infinitely more secure than wireless transmission too. Wireless transmission anyone can pick up, wired means the would have to have access to something on the network which is a lot harder to do.
