can someone please tell me what the hell im doing wrong....im pulling my hair out in frustration.

I set up my dvr with my network and all is good -- I can see it on my ipad and iphone and whenever I am connected o my WIFI

but as soon as I disconnect from my WIFI, or get out my network - I cant connect to my DVR

my DVR settings is as follows:

IPv4: 192.168.1.11

subnet: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.1.1   (ip of my Verizon router)

DNS: 8.8.8.8

is something wrong here?

thanks in advance

Are you using that same IP for offsite viewing? (192.168.1.11)

If so - that won't work - you need to use your external IP (Internet IP) when you are offsite and not on the Wifi.

Get on a PC that is on the same LAN as the DVR/NVR and go to http://www.canyouseeme.org

That will show your Internet IP address and also has a handy port checker tool to see if your port forwarding is set correctly.

let us know if that helps.
