Hi.
I am trying to get a friend to see my ip camera on a windows tablet running 8.1. I just spoke to Art at Tech Pro and he confirmed that my ports are forwarded correctly.
I am assuming that for him to see my camera, he has to use Explorer and enter my public ip plus the port number. Is this correct or do I use the camera's ip which starts with 192.168.x.xxx plus the port?
Thanks,
Tubac

Hi Heath,
i know this is a bit convoluted but if from inside my LAN I am able to see my camera using my private ip plus the forwarded port, in my case 2000, my friend should be able to see my camera using Explorer, my public ip plus the forwarded port 2000. Actually he should get the web service page and enter the user and password I set up for him and then see my camera. Is that correct?
If he is on the LAN then he needs to type the IP of the DVR, Ex. http://192.168.1.108:2000, you only use the public/external IP for remote access.
