I am now the proud owner of a working https://www.securitycameraking.....-prd1.html.

it has just one needed connection now, an Ethernet cable. Besides taping a plastic bag over the myriad of unused cables, how would a good installer protect these cables? (I've installed it on  a beam under a porch overhang.)

You will also notice that there is a notch cut out of the base of mount that needs to be facing down and have the cables feed through it if need be. If you are mounting directly to wall have all cables feed though the wall and caulk or silicone the base to stop seepage.

A junction box will do nicely. I did position the mount correctly and used the seal provided, thanks!
