Same camera: https://www.securitycameraking.....-prd1.html

is there a control on the NVR (tiny 8 channel with POE) where I can lighten an image that is too dark?

Best,

Tom

You will not be able to change the Settings on the camera when it is connected to the built in PoE Switch.

You can attach a laptop to one of the ports of the PoE switch and navigate to the IP address of the camera , the reason being is that the PoE switches that are built into the NVR's will have their own IP Scheme and cannot be the same as the network where the NVR is connected to.

Here is an article that goes into other ways of accomplishing this. https://www.securitycameraking.....oe-switch/

Thank you, Jose. Let me see if I understand you correctly. I would leave the camera where it is plugged in now, that is one of the POE ports on the nvr. Then use a PC with an Ethernet cable plugged into one of the POE ports on the NVR.

Could you explain how I navigate to the camera settings?

Best,

Tom

You generally will make sure your computer is set to DHCP.  Plug the computer into a port on the PoE of the NVR.  The NVR will provide the computer with an IP address in the range that is needed.  Then you can go to the Remote Device to get the IP address of the camera you want to change.  Open IE on your computer and type the IP address of the camera you want to configure.  This will get you into the web service of the camera to allow for configuration.

In the NVR you can see the Cameras IP address . Open Internet Explorer and Log into the camera as normal , Make your changes and you should be good to go. Make sure that your Computer is set to DHCP and not to a Static IP this way the Switch will assign it an IP address.
