Here's my current setup:

IPOD-EL1MPIR50 -> ~75' cat6 through attic -> Netgear 8-port (4-port PoE) switch -> TP-Link router

I installed the camera yesterday evening, and it was working fine until a few hours ago (~15 hours total). The camera appears to power up but doesn't seem to transmit anything. Here's what I've tried:

1. Plugging the camera into one of the PoE ports via 1' patch cable at the switch: The green PoE light on the switch comes on, and I hear the camera make two clicks after about 10 seconds, but the yellow data light on the switch stays dark. The router shows the camera in the DHCP client list, but I can't connect to the camera's web portal.

2. Plugging the camera into a known working PoE port: I have a VoIP phone and it works just fine over PoE. I tried plugging this camera into the same port, but got the same result as #1.

3. Plugging the camera into other unused PoE ports: same result as #1.

3. Plugging the camera into a non-PoE port and using a separate power adapter: The yellow data light started blinking, and after several seconds I was able to log into the camera's web portal and view the video image.

The camera version is below. Is there maybe a firmware update that might help?

Software Version: 2.420.0002.0.R, build : 2014-06-21

WEB Version: 3.2.4.184667

ONVIF Version: 2.4.1

Hello,

that describes that the POE died on the camera. I would check the cable end at the camera and see if there is any discoloration inside. If so it got wet. Let me know what you find. Also how old is the order for the camera?

No discoloration inside the port that I can see. I also opened up the camera and didn't see any discoloration inside the body either, though there was a silica gel packet in there. Tried to attach photos, but wouldn't work so I've uploaded them here: http://s1365.photobucket.com/u.....rary/ipcam

This camera was part of an order from late 2015 or early 2016. It ended up going unused in an install that I did, and had been boxed up until recently when I decided to use it at my own house.

We have POE to DC converters. You could use that to take the power from the POE to put it back to DC if you don't want to run another cable.  I'm not sure on cost you would have to call in.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked at those but thought they could only be used with an injector on the other end. I picked one up and will try it out this weekend.
