I am trying either a Mac (Mavericks) with Safari OR Windows 8 IE to access my IP PTZ Dome camera and always get the prompt to download and install the plugin. I do this and restart/refresh and it still doesn't work.
On IE, I've gone to custom security settings and followed all of the instructions regarding Active X; I've also listed the IP address as a trusted device. I still get the same message and I can't see the camera view.
On Safari, likewise, I've downloaded and installed the plug in and it too doesn't work.
I have the new 30x PTZ Dome with Autotracker camera and need to set up the scene/rules/parameters to auto track.
Hello good morning ejdeleon try only running as administrator Internet explorer 32 bit and also adding the IP address to the compatiblity view under the IE tools menu. Remember to enable to prompt the download unassigned activeX in the Internet opinions> security> custom--

Did you try chrome the the PC? Chrome has more and more become compatible with the newer camera firmware these days. And if all else fails, I seem to remember reading here to delete your webrec folder on the pc, found in C/program files/webrec. Doing that will force a fresh install for the activeX and camera login prompts. Sometimes things can get a little whacky, especially if you have multiple cameras with different firmware versions prompting different login versions on a computer. A friend of mine with a similar ptz could log in, but could not fully tweak the tracking rules- they were grayed out entirely. The fix was deleting the webrec folder. Good luck.
