Congratulations for putting up a forum for sharing information about CCTV easy and freely. I have used an Elite Economy 8 channel dvr since the summer of 2011. At first the linux software was strange to me and downloading the .dav file and then having to convert to .avi  and then editing in Movie Maker or Pinnacle software seemed like a huge waste of time. When I called for help you guys at Security Camera King were very professional and I admit I was very rude. So I am apologizing for my bad behavior over the phone. I have since learned patience and to look at my computer software and "see" what "it" wants not what I want it to do. Most problems are staring me in the face and are solved easily by paying attention. So my advice to new CCTV people is, be patient, experiment with all the different settings of your dvr. My cameras and dvr have served me and my neighbors for almost 3 years now and I feel I'm fluent in CCTV and help others here in Orlando Florida with their systems. I just love it when my videos catch the bad guys!
