I have 8 cameras recording 24/7. Does a DVR re-record over content, if so how many days of recording does it hold before
re-recording over it? Is there a standard figure?

Andy,
The recorder will start overwriting the footage as soon as the recorders drive is full. Because the drive can be 250gb to 8gb and in many cases higher than this if you have a unit that allows more capacity. It is hard to say how much time you have for capacity.
If you give me an order number I can check and see what capacity you have.
