I have a 1080p Techpro TVI 2mp Mini IR 18X indoor/outdoor PTZ [#TVIPTZ-TP2IR18XME] that was ordered on May 31st and is now giving me a problem. It is attached to a 16 Channel Sibell Recorder 1U - CVI / TVI / AHD / 960H / IP [#QDVR-SBE16M]
Yesterday, I found this camera no longer responds to any of the PTZ commands including zoom. I went to the DVR and rebooted but no change. I did notice an odd image at night while using the infrared (see attached)
I also have a second one of these cameras that is about 60 days old that is working fine with no issues on the same DVR. These are excellent cameras and I hope this is just a "fluke" problem
Any suggestions on what I can do or does this camera need to be replaced?
Thanks
Dan
Hello Dan,
Please try Heaths suggestion of power cycling the camera. Also, are you using RS485 connections for your PTZ control or only the Coaxial?
Check out the following video for the settings you will need to use at your local interface for Coaxial only controls:
If you are using RS485 we will have to take a few extra steps.
Thanks!
Yes since I wrote the original post, I have rebooted the DVR and I have power cycled the camera with no changes.
This morning the camera does not show up at all.....completely blank as if it was not there
BTW, this is the newer of the two units I have and is less than 30 days old I believe
Update
This camera went blank on my PC in my office however, it was still visible down stairs on the DVR monitor.
I went thru the steps in your video and the setting match what you are showing.
I still cannot use any PTZ controls from the DVR....it is like a static camera
I am using only coax (piggyback from Tech Vision)
Ok so we can say for certain it is not the DVR, it still could be an issue with cabling. Is it possible for you to basically swap these cameras and their location and look for the same results? Just this time we will need to figure out if the issue follows the cable or the camera.
Short of that I would also recommend giving us a call and having one of our techs log in and see if we can resolve it remotely.
