In the following article I am going to go over the configuration needed to activate an external buzzer or siren when a door is left open for too long that is locked by a mag lock, or door strike. A good example of what this configuration would be good for is when someone uses their FOB or code to open a door that is either locked by a mag lock or door strike and the door does not re-engage or this person purposely propped the door open. With the following configuration an alarm will sound if the door remains open.
You are going to need the following equipment from http://www.securitycameraking.com to pair with your current set up with maglock/door strike, reader, push to exit, etc.
ACP-DXEL2
ACE-DXFCBOARD
You will also need to download our DX software: https://app.box.com/s/nf8p9i4f.....6n0s7yebkv
The following video will go over the necessary changes to make in the DX software:
How to attach the buzzer to the ACE-DXFBOARD
Please note that the inputs on the ACE-DXFBOARD will match the inputs on the ACP-DXEL2/4. Meaning door 1 on the ACP-DXEL2/4 will match with COM1/NO1/NC1 on the ACE-DXFBOARD.
Connect the ACE-DXFBOARD to the ACP-DXEL2/4 via 5 pin connector.
COM 1 on ACE-DXFBOARD goes to 12 vDC POSITIVE on the PSU.
NO 1 on ACE-DXFBOARD goes to positive of buzzer.
Negative of buzzer goes to 12 v DC NEGATIVE on the PSU.
S1 from ACP-DXEL2/4 to NC on the Mag or Strike
GND from ACP-DXEL2/4 to COM on Mag or Strike
More specific schematics will follow.
Thank you and we look forward to your comments!
