I have the 8 channel ultimate mini series D1 DVR. I am working on a home automation install and would like to be able to pull a link or jpg image from the DVR for an email/txt message. For instance, a motion sensor is activated and the home automation system sends a text message to a client that motion was detected and a jpg from the camera feed is included. I have done this with other DVR systems but can't find a way to do it with this one. Any ideas?
On the Ultimate Mini DVR there are alarm inputs and outputs. The alarm inputs can be used to trigger a specific camera or set of cameras to record and/or take snapshots. You can also dictate that when this occurs to send an email to the owner from one or multiple cameras. I think this will suit your needs as long as the system you are using for automation/alarm can send a signal to the dvr. The 8 channel Ultimate Mini has 8 different alarm inputs so multiple motion detectors or door contacts can trigger these actions.
