I am trying to do the following:

Have my DVR take a snapshot from one of my cameras every 3 minutes and copy the snapshot to my FTP server "immediately".

DVR

    I have a 8 Channel 1U Tribrid DVR. (TRIDVR-ELE8M)

What I have working

I was able to set the DVR to take a snapshot every 3 minutes (I can see them when I search for pictures on the DVR) from the desired camera.

FTP server configured on DVR - the DVR creates "192.168.0.99" (DVR IP) and "192.168.0.99/2017-08-26" subdirectories under the "remote directory" of my FTP server.

What DOES NOT Work

The DVR will not write any images to the FTP server even though it created the directories as stated above.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello There,

Please refer to the following article that goes over this functionality:

https://www.securitycameraking.....tp-server/

It seems that the camera will only allow 1-7 seconds intervals.

Please let us know if this helps.

Thanks

Changing the Encode setting to 7s (or 1s) DOES cause the camera to record snapshots internally every 7 seconds (or 1 second) - but still NOTHING is sent to the FTP server.

However, every midnight the DVR does create a new Date directory on the FTP server - so I know it can write to it and the FTP connection settings are correct.

So - at this point I am still not able to get time based snapshots set to an FTP server from the DVR.

Unfortunately, the recorder will push its data on a schedule, not every other second. Once or twice a day you can schedule it to do so. I would suggest this method found here https://www.securitycameraking.....eb-page/

Or you can use our Sibell Cameras that connect directly to a Passive FTP Server.

Since I do not have IP Cameras but rather HD Cameras, I believe the suggested solution will not work.  Looks like there is no solution without additional purchase.

Thank you.

The recorder also has the ability for Snapshot calls through its API. Just select the Channel that the camera is connected to.

"The recorder also has the ability for Snapshot calls through its API." - this may be helpful - could you point me to a reference and/or examples for the API?

I am a programmer - so I may be able to work a solution along this route.

Thanks again!

Send me an email to support@securitycameraking.com I will give you more details since you are a programmer. 😉
