I have just recently started getting a "Main Connection Failed" error message whenever I attempt to remotely log into my LT8240MHD DVR using the WAN IP address.  I have absolutely no problems logging in locally using the local IP address.  I'm using IE browser version 11.09600.17691.

Any assistance resolving this  "Main Connection Failed" error would be greatly appreciated.

HI we are leaving now, but if you post th IP and the HTTP port I will log in from my laptop at home and I will see if I have the same problem. First thing though, did you configure IE? If not here is a link to the video showing you how to do so!

I reviewed the video and my IE is configured as indicated in the video.  As previously mentioned, I can access the the DVR locally without any problems using IE.  But I just cannot access DVR remotely.

My ISP recently changed my static WAN IP address and it appears that this issue started when the change was made.  I had absolutely no problems accessing the DVR with the old static WAN IP address.  So, I'm thinking this may be a ISP issue but I want to rule out all other possibilities prior to contacting the ISP

I sent my WAN IP address and HTTP port number to you via PM.

Yes I reviewed the IP and I am able to hit the web service but I am unable to log in, there may be something that has changed with the port forwarding. I may need to log into a computer on the same network as the DVR to see whats going on.

Both the TCP port and HTTP port need to be forwarded.  One is for authentication where the other is for communication.  We recommend the default TCP port of 37777 and an HTTP port of 88 TCP.
