Hello,
If the CMOS battery was dead it would not be saving date and time either. When it does not work typically it is from the firewall/router blocking the request or the dvr needs to be updated. If it was working and it just stopped I would do a full default on the unit and set back up. Test it. If that does not work try the same on the router.

Gramps - I think I know what you are seeing. When you open the DDNS page it defaults to Quickddns. (and shows it is not set up)
Then if you click the drop down and choose Dyndns - it should show all your settings. If that is what you are seeing, that is expected behavior. It is a Linux trait to show defaults on a page - but then when you select the settings that are not defaults - it will show them.
When you select Dyndns - as long as your settings are in there and DDNS is enabled - you are good to go.
Let us know if that makes sense.

No when I select DYNDNS from the dropdown, none of my info is in there. I enter it and it works for a while. I am sure I am hitting save as it would not work if I did not hit save correct?
Though I have noticed if after I hit save and then go somewhere else like GENERAL a progress bar then runs at the bottom of the screen
As well if I log into my control panel at dyn.com I really do not see further updates to the addy.
For example it says my last update was at 12:05 and it is now 1:26. I changed alive interval on the one I am currently fingering with from 300 to 600. Is alive interval when it "updates" ?
