I'm not sure if this is a bug or by design. I tend to think it's a bug that should be looked at. I have the 8 channel ultimate mini. I know my audio is recording because it's there perfectly with the picture when down loading the DAV file and playing it back through the player. However, if I choose to convert to AVI, either in Techpro or after the fact in the player, the audio is lost and it converts just the picture. It's not a total loss because the audio is there in the DAV file, bottom line. But it should remain in the converted AVI files as well. Maybe you can confirm this happens on your end too? It's not the first time I've run into audio drop out with AVI conversion- it happened frequently with a q-see unit I used previously too. But this is constant- no audio with the AVI files.
Also another separate issue is the AVI file itself isn't playable in most playback units, such as WMP, etc. I actually have to convert the AVI file to MP4 in a file converter for easier playback options.
Addressing these file and conversion issues would be great. Thanks.
