I have the Federal Hybrid HYBDVR-FE016480-DH-160 DVR that I bought from your company about 2 1/2 years ago. I have been reading on various sites that AHD cameras may work with DVRs that record 960H. Can I use AHD cameras with this DVR and get as least as good of performance as a 960H camera? Would I see the quality of a 720p or 1080p AHD camera with my DVR?
That is not the case, AHD is strictly a Digital signal and 960H is simply an analog signal. In order for you to view any Digital Coaxial camera, it would have to be an AHD, HD-CVI or HD-TVI Recorder for it to decode the signal, display it and record it. Your HYBDVR-FE016480-DH-160 will not accept any digital coaxial camera other than the old analog technology and IP cameras of up to 1080P resolution. Here is the spec sheet: https://www.securitycameraking.....DH-160.pdf
Now there are some Tridvrs, QuadDVRs, and Pentabrids that will allow your old analog cameras to be connected as well as digital cameras this including IP cameras. This is possibly where you are getting confused.
