Found this system of cameras running on "24 VAC" to a Geovision 650 video card (circa 2008) in a computer running windows xp. I want to use a tribrid DVR to run the old cameras as well as CVI cameras. Is it possible to plug "24 volt VAC" cameras and get the correct video voltage/signal to work correctly in a modern Tribrid CVI DVR?
I have only used "12 volt DC" cameras in the 7 years of my CCTV experience.
Thanks

Yes, those cameras should work on the TRIDVR. The 24 VAC just means the cams use AC instead of 12V DC. It should make no difference to the DVR. There are still a lot of cameras out there that use AC = PTZ cams in particular. What is more important is the type of camera - if they have coax cable with BNC ends, they are probably analog cameras = they will work on the TRIDVR as analog. IF they are IP cameras - you may have to monkey with them a little = they will install on the TRIDVR as Onvif cameras. Either way - you should do fine with a TRIDVR.
And as always, Thanks for doing business with us!

Thanks Ted for your quick response on Thankgiving Eve.
These old cams are not PTZ nor IP.
They have 8mm lens with manual aperture ring that rotates open to close.
Manual far/near ring also.
Not wanting to keep the old cameras but will replace in time.
You guys are awesome with the help!
