I have a site with well over 50 cameras, 10 of which are PTZ. Over the past year, the fixed cameras have performed flawlessly however the model (LX700L12X) PTZ cameras have experienced some annoying issues. We have had several cameras default back to address 1 and or lose their protocol. Another issue that we have noticed is that the user is unable to pan the camera until a power down is performed. This is not always an easy task as the cameras are powered up in remote areas. I have contacted tech support and the only insight was a power surge as it is infrequent and intermittent and different cameras. All PTZ cameras that have a run over 100' are locally powered and the RS485 wire is twisted shielded. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!
It could be a power issue there is the possibility that one camera is failing and affecting other cameras. To keep defaulting cameras like that is very strange. It sounds like you are getting prolonged power loss. until it constantly happens it will be difficult to determine the reason behind it.
