We recently purchased a camera mod# OB-EF700IR100L2812D-W with OSD. I assumed the OSD menu could be accessed via the DVR. Is it necessary to access the OSD at the camera's final installation location, and if this is necessary, what kind of equipment do I need to make adjustments on the OSD?

You cannot access this cameras OSD on your DVR. You would have to use a monitor near the camera and change the setting using a wrist monitor. We have these monitors here.
You can open the Lid using the supplied tool.
After doing so you will see the controls here.
Here you will see the joy stick that you can use to select with and pressing the center is your "Enter" command.
You can also use the supplied Video Cable and attach this to the VIDEO_OUT 2 pin port that is inside of this lid.
