Description
The POEEXT-OUTDOOR-2 is a waterproof inline POE (power over ethernet) extender or/and splitter which takes one POE and splits it into 2 POE. Plus you get the benefit of an extra 300ft of POE from the insertion point. This means you can take a location that has one cable powering one camera, insert this extender, add a second cable, and connect another camera up to 300ft away.
This device takes the power from the POE switch at the head end. The switch can be 30W or 60W but a 30W POE will mean there is only half the power that could be available. If you use a 60W you get 50W at the end split between the cameras. If you use a 30W you get 25W at the end split between the cameras.
This device is passive so power is not needed. It will get it’s power from the POE switch at the head end of the cable run.
