Use SMD+ (Smart Motion Detection+) on all channels instead of traditional motion detection to reduce false positives for motion to only trigger motion detection for people and vehicles.  SMD can be further upgraded to Peremiter Detection on 2 channels of your choosing, allowing you to enable extra rules and conditions enabling a high level of customization and fine tuning.

The Real Time Face recognition feature catalogs facial data on up to 2 separate channels simultaneously. With the AI search function on either face data or SMD+/Perimeter data, you can efficiently search through recordings for smart events like faces, people or vehicles.

The PENDVR-ELE16M-AI is a Pentabrid recorder, which means that not only is it compatible with all the major coax standards (analog/CVI/TVI/AHD) it also handles IP cameras.  Please note that the AI functions are disabled when IP Expansion mode is enabled, so plan your builds accordingly.  Your new recorder supports up to 24 total channels of video (either 16 coax + 8 IP or 24 channels IP up to 6MP @ 128Mbps Max Bandwidth.)

With standard support for H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 compressions, the PENDVR-ELE16M-AI also has a new AI coding compression algorithm to further reduce storage and bandwidth concerns. AI coding can reduce up to 50% of the bandwidth requirements of standard H.265 encoding.
